Jan L. Shifren, MD
Jan L. Shifren, MD, NCMP, is Associate Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School. She is a reproductive endocrinologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Director of the MGH Midlife Women's Health Center. Dr. Shifren received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and MGH. She then completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of California, San Francisco. Her research focuses on menopause and sexual function. Dr. Shifren is active in numerous professional societies and is currently Immediate Past President of the North American Menopause Society.
Julia Schlam Edelman, MD
Julia Schlam Edelman, MD, is a gynecologist in a solo private practice and a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School. After graduating from Yale, Dr. Edelman earned her medical degree at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Edelman has written two books for women and their medical providers, Menopause Matters: Your Guide to a Long and Healthy Life (published by Johns Hopkins University Press in 2009) and Successful Sleep Strategies for Women (published by Harvard Health Publications in 2012). The North American Menopause Society selected Dr. Edelman as their Menopause Practitioner of the Year in 2010.
Isaac Schiff, MD
Isaac Schiff, MD, is a graduate of McGill Medical School and completed his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the Boston Hospital for Women [now Brigham and Women's Hospital]. He was Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology at Brigham and Women's Hospital before moving to the Massachusetts General Hospital to become Chief of the Vincent Obstetrics and Gynecology Service where founded the obstetrics program, the IVF program, the Division of Urogynecology and recruited the senior staff for the Vincent Center for Reproductive Biology. Dr. Schiff is the Joe Vincent Meigs Professor of Gynecology at Harvard Medical School. He also is a winner of the Harvard Medical School's Dean's Award for the Support and Advancement of Women Faculty. In 2013, he received the John T. Potts Jr, MD, Faculty Mentoring Award. Dr. Schiff is one of the founding trustees of the North American Menopause Society and has served as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Menopause since its inception. Dr. Schiff was also Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board of Pause, a consumer journal of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
