Paul G. Schmitz, MD
Paul G. Schmitz, MD, completed his residency and fellowship in nephrology at the University of Minnesota Hospitals in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1990. He accepted a position at Saint Louis University in August 1990. In July of 2000, he received his academic tenure as Professor of Internal Medicine Dr. Schmitz is a distinguished clinician-educator and has received multiple teaching awards, including the Missouri Governor's Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Dean's Award for Distinguished Teaching, the Osler Award for outstanding resident teaching, and the Golden Apple Award for medical student teaching. Dr. Schmitz also is an accomplished physician scientist with more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed biomedical journals, including Kidney International, the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, the American Journal of Physiology, and the Journal of Clinical Investigation. He written more than 50 book chapters and served as the editor for two books. He has studied hypertension for more than 25 years (including serving as the principal investigator on several animal and human trials) and has received grant support form the National Institute of Health, the American Diabetes Association, and the National Kidney Foundation. He serves as the Director of the Saint Louis University Comprehensive High Blood Pressure Clinic.
Thinh Nguyen, MD
Thinh P. Nguyen, MD, is a Physician at All Children's Perinatology Specialists / Johns Hopkins Medicine. He is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist at All Children's Hospital / Johns Hopkins Medicine and Bayfront Medical Center. Dr. Nguyen received his medical degree from the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Saint Louis University. His research focuses on maternal morbidities in pregnancy and prematurity. Dr. Nguyen is a member of the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
