Aaron Shafer, MD
Aaron Shafer, MD, is an Associate Professor of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine at the University of Texas at MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Associate Fellowship Director for the gynecologic oncology fellowship program there. He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh and completed residency at Women and Infants Hospital/Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Shafer then completed a gynecologic oncology fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 2009. Dr. Shafer joined the staff at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT, and faculty at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine for 7 years before starting his current position at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Paola A. Gehrig, MD
Paola A. Gehrig, MD, is Professor and Chief in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of North Carolina. She earned her medical degree from the University of Florida, completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Virginia, and completed her fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of North Carolina. She currently serves on the Gynecologic Oncology Division for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has published over 140 peer reviewed articles. Her research primarily focuses on endometrial cancer and improving the quality of life of women with gynecologic malignancies by investigating the effects of a patient's own personal factors and treatment.
